More Class 56s for sale!

DB Schenker have released yet another tender list containing over 100 locos for disposal, their biggest in recent history. Over 43 class 56s are listed, the majority of those still owned by DBS. These Locomotives are offered for sale by means of competitive open tender in accordance with the DBSR “Code of  Practice for the identification, Sale and/or Disposal of Surplus Locomotives”.

DBS Spring Clearout!

It looks like DBS have been doing a spot of spring cleaning again, and have released the following tender list featuring several Class 56 examples. For sale by means of competitive tender are the following;

56041 at Healey Mills
56053 at Healey Mills
56055 at Healey Mills
56062 at Margam
56072 at Healey Mills
56085 at Thornaby
56088 at Thornaby
56093 at Healey Mills
56099 at Healey Mills
56100 at Margam
56102 at Thornaby

It is planned that the locos currently at Healey Mills yard will be moved to Doncaster in due course.

Of note, this tender list sees the first Class 58s to be offered for sale. They are;

These locomotives will be sold as seen and as and where lying. The successful bidders will be required to remove the locomotives from their present site at their own expense and without any assistance from DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd.

Scrappies make a start on demic 56s

The disposal of the eight class 56’s recently sold off by DB Schenker Rail has begun. Firedamaged 56118 has already been completed scrapped at C F Booth’s yard in Rotherham whilst 56033, 56048, 56056, 56068, 56079, 56116 have all been transferred from Healey Mills to Doncaster Wood Yard for onward movement to European Metal Recycling at Kingsbury. RIP.
