Membership
Members of the Class 56 Group receive four copies of the Group’s magazine, GRIDIRON. Produced in house, GRIDIRON is full of the latest news, photos and updates on preserved and mainline registered Class 56s. As a member, you will also be the first to hear of any important updates, passenger workings with our loco and new mainline Railtours featuring the class.

Adult Rate Membership
£10.00 per year. Any individual not qualifying for a ‘concessionary’ rate of membership at the time of applying to join the Group or on renewal of membership and, any individual who has passed their sixteenth (16) birthday at the time of applying to join the Group or on renewal of membership or, any individual who is not included in an application to join the Group or renewal of a membership as part of a ‘family’ membership package.
Concession Rate Membership
£6.50 per year. Any individual not applying to join the Group or to renew an existing membership in the ‘junior’ or ‘family’ membership categories and who is able to show to the Committee’s satisfaction they are:
A) ‘Senior’ – are of age 60 or over at the time of applying for Group membership or, on renewal of an existing membership
B) ‘Disabled’ – they are registered disabled with the Department for Work and Pensions (or any successor government department).
Family Rate Membership
£10.00 + £0.50p for each additional member per year. ‘Family’ membership shall be for a group of individuals residing at the same address, of which one person must be sixteen or over. Only one copy of Gridiron will be posted to the address given for ‘family’ memberships.
Junior Rate Membership
£6.50 per year. Any individual who has not yet attained their sixteenth (16) birthday at the date of their applying to join the Group or on renewal of an existing membership and, who is not included in the ‘family’ membership category.
